FAQ

What are Therapeutic Heat Wraps?

They are basically a corn bag. You can microwave them for heat to relax the muscles or freeze them for inflammation and injuries. From the freezer they stay pliable, unlike water and gels, and won’t sting the skin.

Why should I choose these Heating Pads?

They can be used Hot or Cold. We use deer corn, which holds the heat longer than other materials like rice, which can burn easily. They are cordless, so you can take it with you, whether to work or on a trip. It’s a natural ways to ease pain, no matter whether it’s a microwaveable heating pad or a freezable cold pack, it is versatile and portable means of pain relief.

What sizes do they come in?

  • Small or Booboo bags: 8 ½” x 5” x 1”
  • Medium (Original): 18” x 5” x 1 ½”
  • Large (Structured): 18” x 8” x 1 ¼”
  • X-Large (Structured): Custom order only

What is the expected lifetime of our microwaveable heating pads?

It’s been reported that some people have been using theirs for 5+ year. In all reality, it depends on how much and how often you use it. I use my heating pad as well as cold pack very often, even throughout the Summer. I usually go through one ever year to year and a half.

Will it pop?

No, it will not pop. They are heat tested before going to the customer. In the US there are typically 3 types of corn. Field corn, otherwise known as deer corn; Sweet corn, which is what we eat; and Popcorn, well we all know what that’s for!

Will it burn?

Not likely, if you follow the instructions on the tag, which is no more than 2 – 3 minutes, it will be fine. Note: if there is food or grease in microwave, heat the heating pad on a microwave safe plate.

What if I overheat it?

Toss side to side to redistribute corn. Use a towel between you and heat pad. Or just set it aside until cool enough to use.

Is it washable?

Short answer: No. However, you can clean the fabric with a damp rag, then heat for 2 minutes in a microwave, and let cool on a towel.

How do I store it?

Whether you are storing for the season or in the freezer, it is recommended to place it in a Ziploc style bag.

Do not use on anyone who cannot feel the heat or cold or cannot remove it themselves. Such as babies, small children, the elderly, Diabetics, etc. Do not use against bare skin. Note: if you are a Diabetic, please consult your physician prior to using our heating pads on yourself.
